In The News

Hamburger Abendblatt, October 10, “Compared to the Goliath of film festivals, the Berlinale with its 20-million Euro budget, the Filmfest Hamburg seems rather modest. Festival director Albert Wiederspiel could spend just 650,000 Euros for his festival. But, in view of the increased ticket sales, wide praise for a well-rounded program and expert scheduling without a hitch, busy Wiederspiel must feel like David himself. Wiederspiel and his small team have achieved the impossible in just nine days. Hamburg may never rise to the level of the wealthy Berlinale, but it could very well become the new German Sundance.”
