International Kurz(Short)Film Festival (IKFF) – celebrating 32-years and going strong – held its party from May 31 – June 6 this year. More than 300 short films from over 40 countries screened in six Hamburg cinemas to the delight of 16,000plus guests. Offered as well were approximately 100 events, panels, workshops, and lectures that were watched over by roundabout 150 festival team members. In excess of 500 guests and around 120 filmmakers partook of the festivities; IKFF supporters’ homes generously accommodated 560 accredited guests from 34 countries. Running counter to IKFF was the 18th Mo&Friese Kinder (Children) Short Film Festival May 29 – June 5, 2016. Eighty-two films from thirty-six countries were shown with film workshops on offer for its many young and young-at-heart fans. Betwixt the two, everyone of every age was guaranteed satisfaction to the nth degree.
