T2 Trainspotting is a follow up to the original Trainspotting movie (based on the novel by Irvine Welsh) that came out in 1996. The characters are all played by the original cast, and the film deals with what has happened in each of their lives in the past twenty years. Although the movie does not have the same subversive and innovative feel as the original, its focus on the character's development over time and current life situations is fascinating to see. The first movie ends on somewhat of a cliff hanger, and T2 gives us a much appreciated closure for events in the past in a thoughtful very well acted film. (Nava Berg)
