If you prefer watching a football match with your friends instead of joining the family for a trip to your mother-in-law or if you want to spend a weekend with your hot lover instead of celebrating the 30-year anniversary with your wife, Grég (Lacheau) and his team can help. Together with his friend August (Arruti) and newcomer Mehdi (Boudali) he runs a successful company called “Alibi.com”, supplying custom-made alibis. Business goes well and he is a happy man. When he falls in love with the beautiful and clever Flo (Fontan), his life becomes complicated. Flo hates men who lie, which means he has to keep his true occupation from her. Naturally, this is prompting more lies. But it gets worse. Lovely Flo takes him home to meet her parents. And who opens the door? It is her father Gérard (Bourdon), who is also one of Grég's customers. A lot of funny confusion follows with over-the-top slapstick. Flo gets suspicious but crafty Grég is always one step ahead, flashing his charming smile, never running out of ideas.
Philippe Lacheau is known as an actor and writer (Project: Babysitting). In Alibi.com he is the main actor as well as director and co-writer. The strength of the film is a witty team of likable actresses/actors with a good chemistry between them. If you don't look too closely for logic or meaning, you might enjoy this unpretentious love comedy. (Birgit Schrumpf)
