Newt Scamander (Eddie Redmayne) once again takes off on a fantastic voyage across the horizon as the third installment of Fantastic Beasts arrives in the German cinemas. The fantasy film reintroduces us to an array of good and evil characters that create chaos whether it is deliberate or not. Professor Albus Dumbledore (Jude Law) reflects on his past and must change the course of actions for the future. He entrusts magizoologist Newt to lead a team of wonderful wizards and witches to fight against his old friend, now enemy Gellert Grindelwald’s (Mads Mikkelsen) army to save both worlds.
The cinematography creates the perfect atmosphere for fantasy creatures to play an ongoing game of chess to see who will win at the end of the day. Although I was delighted with all the characters and costumes, I was disappointed with the quick clichés like heading back to the Nazi era where all evil exists or to the holy place of Bhutan where purity of soul resides. The film will delight many of the fans, but I for one would like to see a bit more creativity in the script instead of settling for a quick solution. (Shelly Schoeneshoefer)
