An off-beat romantic fairy tale in which Georges Fouquet (Romain Duris) appears at a high society party on the French Riviera, entertaining various guests with outlandish stories describing his life, when he accidentally meets the love of his life, Camille (Virginie Efira). The two have made a pact that they will be together no matter where their paths may lead them. Both are caught up in a lavish world of fantasy, fancy parties and have lost track of the real-life responsibilities as the mail piles up at the door of their Parisian apartment.
With the coming of a new baby boy, Charles (Grégory Gadebois), life becomes much more complicated and the pressure of a new responsibility begins to unravel Camille’s mental health. This emotional, funny, and charming film changes into a drama as the family is confronted with the realities of mental illness and fight to control it before it gets completely out of hand. Director Oliver Bourdeaut succeeds in creating a visually beautiful and emotional fairytale with the help of costume designer Emmanuelle Youchnovski. Every outfit was perfectly done down to the jewelry, the right handbag, and shoes. Best bring some Kleenex, just in case. (Shelly Schoeneshoefer)
