Jordan Peele is not only an American director, actor, comedian, screenwriter, but is also the founder of Monkey Paw Productions. He is truly a man who can make a random falling metal object from the sky seem strange and amusing but at the same time sinister, as seen in this science-fiction/horror/Western film called Nope. He has truly opened up the film genre by combining sci-fi with horror which at the same time leaves the audience sheepishly laughing.

When O.J. Haywood (Daniel Kaluuya) witnesses the strange death of his father Otis (Keith David) on their remote California horse ranch, it marks the beginning of an unforeseeable adventure into the world beyond. Strapped for money, he begins selling his horses to a local theme park next door run by Ricky “Jupe” (Steven Yeun) and calls in his sister Emerald (Keke Palmer) to help him manage the ranch. Low and behold, as a strange random UFO appears, events occur taking these two horse trainers on an unforgiving wild ride. They are faced with getting help or taking a tight grip on the reins before all is lost.

The set design is wonderfully cheesy and the costumes are classic. This film is marked to become a cult classic like Blade Runner (1982). It may not get great reviews now but I think people will appreciate the artistry of this film in the future. (Shelly Schoeneshoefer)
