Claé and Bruô represent different parts of the world. The former is a special agent of the Kingdom of the Sun, and the latter is a special agent of the Kingdom of the Moon. Contrary to expectations, they meet up, both with the same goal: their mutual forest is in danger of being destroyed by a monster. They need help and set off to find the Perlimps who hold a mysterious, powerful energy. On their search they find a radio which sends messages from the Perlimps. They move through the jungle, conversing and gradually becoming better acquainted with each other as well as with an older “guy.” So, when do they meet the Perlimps?

Claé is a fox and Bruô is a bear (who often takes time to meditate). The old “guy” is a bird. There is war, military, airplanes, and a wall dividing the area. In the last five minutes identities change in an unexpected way. Perlimps is a beautiful, unusual, very artistic animation which in itself is worth viewing. My colleagues discussed whether Perlimps is actually a children’s film. I’m sure that children will enjoy it, although it is not your familiar animation. Adults, too, will appreciate this film, perhaps even wishing to view it a second time. It is supported by 27 songs plus 21 original musical accompaniments, which often sound very ominous. Perlimps won best animated film at the Chicago International Children’s Film Festival 2022. (Becky Tan)
