Georgia (Nia Vardalos from My Big Fat Greek Wedding) originally went to Athens to teach Greek history at the university, but is now between jobs and works as a tour guide to pay the rent. Although Greek history is her forté, her customers find her dry and humorless, so her boss Maria (Bernice Stegers) always gives her the worst groups. Her newest group fulfills all the clichés of foreign tourists: loud Americans, beer guzzling Australians, snobby Brits, wise guy Irv (Richard Dreyfuss), etc. Even the bus driver Procopi (Alexis Georgoulis) seems to be a loser. Somehow though as the tour continues, Irv talks Georgia into changing her ways, becoming less starchy and standoffish and livening up her act. The group adores the new Georgia and then a romance with Procopi (who also reveals his true personality as the film goes on!) begins.
This is a VERY light comedy whose jokes get weaker and weaker, but you could go for the beautiful "tour" of Greece - the scenery, the Acropolis, Olympia, etc. (Thelma Freedman)
