Twenty-five-year-old student Marein Budiner managed the accreditation counter for the 2007 Filmfest Hamburg. This was a two-month, paid job heavy with responsibility. She was in charge of accreditation and processed a record number (almost 1000) of applications. There were attendees from l1 countries including Japan, Iran, France, Denmark and Argentina. She produced IDs for journalists and members of the film industry, worked on layout for the Filmfest accreditation cards and tended the accreditation and info counter during the entire festival.
Originally from Gießen, Ms. Budiner has almost completed her studies in Hamburg, majoring in media and culture, with an emphasis on film. She gained experience at several
internships, e.g., at the Filmfund Hamburg, as freelancer for film press and during the Hamburg Short Film Festival, where she was responsible for the children’s program as a member of the selection committee. She realized that she has an interest and talent for organization. After graduation she would like to take a trip around the world and then look for a job in film production and/or film press, which she believes has a definite future and where she can work creatively. Her favourite festival film was Persepolis.
