20,000 Days on Earth
U.K. 2014

Opening 16 Oct 2014

Directed by: Iain Forsyth
Writing credits: Nick Cave, Iain Forsyth, Jane Pollard

Part documentary, part docudrama, this film is probably best enjoyed by fans of Nick Cave and the Bad Seeds. The plot follows Cave during the 24 hours of his 20,000th day on Earth. There are interviews with Cave about his creative processes which are quite insightful. There are various discussions between himself and band members, a therapist, family, and other musicians with a short appearance by Kylie Minogue.

Studio and concert time will surely appeal to his adoring audience. But for those either unfamiliar with his music or not a fan of the genre, other than an interesting look into how one musician makes music, the film could be a total bore. (Mary Nyiri)
