Jenny Mather

Jenny was born in England but spent nineteen years in the U.S. before moving to Hamburg in 2000. She joined the American Women’s Club and soon took an interest in its film group. Teaching at the International School of Hamburg has meant that she hasn’t been able to watch as many movies as she’d like, but she's always scrupulous about critiquing those she manages to see. Attending Hamburg’s Filmfest is a special treat, and she particularly enjoys documentaries from places she is unlikely to visit. A friend from schooldays described her as being “born critical”, a talent which she can put to good use when at the movies.
